Why Blog on Service Part Strategy?

Companies in many Industry Sectors, including Automotive, Aerospace, Defense, Construction, Industrial, and Technology, offer Service Parts (also referred to as Replacement Parts and Spare Parts) for their products.

All these companies recognize the significant contribution service parts can make to profitability of the company and to gain more market share for the company's products. However, very few of these companies have been able to allocate sufficient time and resources to fine tune their Service Part Strategy, taking into account recent academic research and advancement in technology solutions.

The purpose of this blog is to bring together practitioners and academicians to discuss challenges in choosing the right service part strategies and help companies map out an effective course of action for the short term and the long term, while recognizing uncertainties in the business environment.
